About us

Pizzazz is a violin duo comprised of Katie Sheehan and Sidney Užík.  Based in Cork, they perform at wedding receptions and ceremonies, parties and corporate events all over Munster. Their repertoire includes the most loved classical pieces, popular covers, traditional airs and songs from movies and musicals. 

Katie Sheehan (BMus)

Katie is currently studying an MA in violin performance with Katherine Hunka at MTU Cork School of Music (CSM). She is a recent graduate of CSM, where she was awarded first class honours in her BMus. An experienced orchestral player, she has performed with RTÉ Concert Orchestra, Cork Opera House Concert orchestra, MGCE Concert orchestra, FAMES Studio orchestra, Esker Festival and Irish Youth Baroque orchestra.  She has played on commercial recordings for film and TV at the FAMES Institute, Skopje and has recorded for independent artists such as Maicín, Siân Browne and Ciara Finnerty. Katie will be taking part in Camerata Ireland Academy at the Clandeboye Festival this year.

Sidney Uzik (BMus)

Sidney currently studies violin with Elizabeth Charleson for  the MA in Violin Performance in Munster Technological University, Cork School of Music (CSM), having recently graduated from the BMus there. She also plays viola. She has received masterclasses with Elizabeth Cooney and Mairéad Hickey. Sidney  co-lead the CSM Symphony Orchestra from 2021-23 and  co-lead Cork Youth Orchestra (CYO) from 2018-20, having previously toured Italy with them. She enjoys playing  with others and has worked with Crash Ensemble, Cork Concert Orchestra, CSM Symphony Orchestra, Esker Festival and Irish Youth Baroque orchestras. 

Sidney teaches violin in her local  primary school and also conducts a junior orchestra.
